The Example of the Holy Prophet (sa) at Home “In another narration, Aswad relates that he asked Hazrat Aisha (ra) what the Holy Prophet (sa) used to do at home. She replied, ‘He would occupy himself in serving his family; that is, he would assist them in their household tasks. And when the time for prayer arrived, he would go out for prayer.’ Similarly, Hisham ibn Urwah narrates from his father that a man once asked Hazrat Aisha (ra) whether the Messenger (sa) of Allah performed any work at home. The Beloved of Allah “Our Holy Prophet (sa) was eminently lovable, which is required by the name Muhammad, because being ‘Muhammad’, encompassing all praiseworthy excellences, is what brings into being the state of being eminently lovable. And the Holy Prophet (sa) also possessed the best qualities of a lover [of God and humanity], which the name Ahmad requires; for it is essential that hamid [the one who praises] must also be muhibb [the one who loves]. The Names “Ahmad” and “Muhammad” “The Promised Messiah (as), in praise and glorification of the Holy Prophet (sa), states: ‘The name Ahmad is the manifestation of jamal [grace and benevolence] and—in contrast to this—the name Muhammad is the manifestation of jalal [grandeur and eminence]. The reason for this is that inherent in the name Muhammad is the quality of being the beloved, because having all praiseworthy excellences and possessing utmost beauty requires splendour, grandeur, awe, and glory. But inherent in the name Ahmad is the quality of falling in love because to praise someone demands humility, lover’s submissiveness, and meekness. The Humility of the Holy Prophet (sa) “He expressed love and showed humility even towards children, and would be the first to greet them. Hazrat Anas relates that whenever the Messenger of Allah (sa) visited the Ansar, he would greet their children, pass his hand over their heads, and pray for them. Hazrat Ibn Mas‘ud relates that on one occasion a man was brought before the Prophet (sa), and such was the awe of the Holy Prophet (sa) that the man’s shoulders began to tremble. The Holy Prophet (sa) said to him: ‘Be at ease — I am no king. I am merely the son of a woman who used to eat dried meat.’ The Promised Messiah (as) said: ‘As God bestowed all the more success upon him, he grew all the more humble… When a man trembled before him, the Holy Prophet (sa) asked him very gently and kindly, “Why are you so frightened? Humility Raises a Person “On one occasion, while drawing a believer’s attention towards humility, the Holy Prophet (sa) said – as narrated by Hazrat Ibn Abbas (ra): ‘Every human being has two chains attached to his head: one extending towards the heavens and another towards the earth. Neither before him was there any human being as perfect as he, nor can there ever be after him. The World Was Warned “Several years ago, I wrote to various world leaders urging them to set aside their differences and work together for the sake of humanity. For example, I wrote to the Israeli Prime Minister, invoking the teaching of the Torah, and to the Iranian president and other Muslim leaders, drawing upon the Holy Qur’an, urging them all towards justice and reconciliation. I extended the same message urging peace to the British Prime Minister, the US President, China's President, and many other heads of states. My sole objective was that they might reflect upon the deteriorating state of the world and recognize the existential risks facing humanity. Sadly, they were not willing to listen. Tragically, though, the thousands of women and girls killed by foreign bombs expose the hollowness of such claims.” “Following the outbreak of the Iran War, a Spanish MEP Irene Montero asserted that the rights of women and girls are cynically exploited as a pretext to advance geopolitical agenda.” “She said, ‘No woman has ever been freed by American bombs or illegal aggression. Advancing Peace Through Service His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (aba), presented the Ahmadiyya Muslim Prize for the Advancement of Peace to Grégoire Ahongbonon of Benin. Grégoire Ahongbonon is a humanitarian who has revolutionised care for people with mental illness in West Africa. Through the St. Camille Association, he has helped rescue and treat vulnerable individuals who were often abandoned, chained or abused due to stigma surrounding mental health. His grassroots network has established 11 psychiatric hospitals, 63 clinics and 21 rehabilitation centres across Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Togo and Burkina Faso.
